Job summary

Centalion is seeking a Risk Officer for Power, Gas and Renewables to join the Singapore risk team. You will measure, monitor, and challenge front-office assumptions while delivering high-quality risk reports and digital tools to enhance decision-making.

The role requires a university degree and 3–5 years in commodity trading with a focus on renewables and energy markets. Proficiency in Excel and Python is valued; fluent English is mandatory.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computing, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or Finance.
• 3–5 years in the commodity trading business.
• Experience in renewables and BESS is an advantage.
• Experience in Australian or Japanese Power markets is a plus.
• Strong understanding of financial derivatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Highly self-motivated with curiosity about power markets and valuation.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain risk reporting/analytics for daily position, P/L and market risk.
• Analyze, model, and report market risk for all trading activities.
• Analyze mark-to-market valuations, risk positions, curves and P/L results daily.
• Coordinate deal checks, price validation, curve updates and data reconciliation.
• Provide critical thinking around risk reporting processes and exposure analysis.
• Maintain, enhance and review risk models; test new calculations.
• Communicate with Front Office, Operations, Trade Support, Finance and IT.
• Quantify and explain risk sources to the trading/origination team.
• Prepare reports for management and monthly trading results translation.
