Job summary

Centalion is seeking a Risk Officer for Power and Gas in Singapore. The role is part of the Risk team and focuses on measuring, analyzing, and monitoring positions and P&L while delivering high-quality reports and digital tools for decision-making.

The successful candidate will model and communicate market risk for all trading activities, collaborate with Front Office, Operations, Finance and IT, and contribute to risk model maintenance and improvements.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computing/Mathematics/Engineering/Economics or Finance.
• 3 to 5 years in the commodity trading business, preferably in a major trading house or utility.
• Experience in renewables and BESS is an advantage; experience in Australian or Japanese Power markets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain risk reporting/analytics for daily position, P/L and market risk communication to trading/origination teams and management.
• Analyze, model, and report market risk for all trading activities; monitor physical and financial trades.
• Analyze mark-to-market valuations, risk positions, curves, volatilities, and P/L daily.
• Challenge front-office assumptions and ensure data integrity in trading systems.
• Coordinate deal checks, price validation, curve updates and data reconciliation; monitor trading limits and risk policy compliance.
• Provide analysis of commodity exposure and forward price movements for trading activities.
• Maintain and review risk models; test new calculations and suggest improvements.
• Communicate inputs and assumptions with Front Office, Operations, Trade Support, Finance and IT.
• Support risk officers across desks as needed and assist in process improvements.
