Job summary

Search Staffing Pte Ltd is seeking a senior researcher to lead advanced power electronics initiatives in collaboration with academic institutions and industry partners. You will guide early-stage concepts, perform hands‑on prototyping, and produce designs and documentation that advance proof‑of‑concept initiatives.

The role requires a PhD or Master’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 8+ years in research, including 3+ years in a leadership role.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in power electronics research with at least 3 years in a leadership or team‑lead role.
• Strong understanding of electronics hardware design, common power electronics architectures and control.
• Experience with architecture drawings, electronic schematics, component datasheets and PCB layout drawings.
• Knowledge of embedded software (C/C++) and coding practices is preferred.
• Hands‑on prototyping and testing experience using oscilloscopes, electronic loads and power analysers.
• Familiarity with SiC/GaN devices, magnetics design, EMI, and thermal management.
• Expertise in using simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, Python, etc).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be directly involved in early-stage research projects, working with academic institutions, suppliers, customers, and partners to deliver proof of concept designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor market trends and industry research to define the research strategy and product roadmap.
• Drive the delivery of multiple projects, ensuring the engineering team has the technical direction and support required to deliver industry leading proof of concept designs within target timelines.
• Lead and mentor a group of engineers, supporting career development with goal setting and regular check-ins.
• Identify the skills needed in the team and help with recruitment of suitable engineers.

• Work with a commitment to continuous improvement, transparency and technical expertise.
