Job summary

Unknown company in Singapore is seeking a Power Electronics Research Engineer at all levels to contribute to early-stage research projects with academia and industry partners. You will help deliver PoC designs through literature reviews, topology exploration, and test setups, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires a PhD or Master’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, strong power electronics knowledge, and hands-on prototyping skills.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Strong power electronics background and hardware design understanding.
• Experience with schematics, PCB layout, and datasheets.
• Knowledge of embedded software (C/C++) and coding practices.
• Hands-on prototyping and testing with oscillosopes and power analyzers.
• Familiarity with SiC/GaN devices, EMI, and thermal management.
• Proficient in simulation tools (MATLAB, Python, Simulink, LTspice).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Open to all experience levels, from recent graduates to seasoned professionals.

Responsibilities

• Fundamental Research – literature reviews on hardware topologies and control methods.
• Ideation – identify problems and future needs for power electronics systems.
• Project Definition – produce clear target requirements for solutions.
• Concept Proposal – generate multiple design concepts and feasibility analyses.
• Proof of Concept – create detailed designs and build test setups.
• Documentation – write research reports, design guides, and performance reports.
