Job summary

National University of Singapore is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to advance theoretical and computational research in gravitational-wave astronomy and statistical ML. The successful candidate will work in a cross-disciplinary setting, contribute to innovative methods, and collaborate with a team.

The role may start as early as March 2027. The initial appointment is for one year with potential renewal up to two or three years, including travel support for conferences and opportunities

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in scientific analysis for gravitational-wave astronomy and/or statistical ML for science.
• Background in applied mathematics, statistics, data science or computational science.
• Familiar with surrogate modelling, representation learning, self-supervised learning, Bayesian optimisation, Gaussian processes, Monte Carlo methods, reinforcement learning, simulation-based inference and model misspecification.

Responsibilities

• The initial appointment is for one year, with expected renewal up to two or three years in total.
• Engage in theoretical and computational research in gravitational-wave astronomy and statistical science.
• Contribute to cross-disciplinary projects and supervise research students when possible.
