The International Society for Bayesian Analysis is seeking two Postdoctoral Research Fellows for a two-year contract at the National University of Singapore. Candidates will work on designing and analyzing statistical methods for high-dimensional time-series data, with applications in reinforcement learning and state-space modeling.
Sep 26, 2023
Two Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions are currently open in the Department of Statistics & Data Science at the National University of Singapore (NUS). These are two-year contracts, with the possibility of renewal upon review.
While the research themes are flexible, our primary interest lies in the design and analysis of statistical methods for data-assimilation of high-dimensional time-series data. We anticipate applying tools from reinforcement learning, Koopman operators, and unsupervised representation learning, supplementing the more conventional techniques in state-space modeling (particle filters, EnKF, variational approaches, etc…)
Details:

Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 2 years (Renewable for up to an additional year)
Salary Range: S$ 70k-100k / Year, plus benefits (Health Insurance / etc…)
Travel: Generous budget for attending conferences
Requirements:

Ideal candidates should have:
* a Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a closely related field.
* strong experience in Python programming.
* experience with at least one deep-learning framework
* a demonstrated record of academic publications
* research experience that aligns with the core focus of the research programme.
