Job summary

Manfield Employment Services Pte Ltd seeks a hands-on Polymer Process Engineer with 3+ years of experience in polymer compounding and twin-screw extrusion. You will optimize processing, troubleshoot, and support scale-up of new formulations from lab to production.

You will work closely with Maintenance, R&D, Quality, and Production to maintain process controls and drive continuous improvement, ensuring repeatable production and reliable equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in polymer compounding.
• Strong knowledge of polymer processing, rheology, additive incorporation, and pigment/colour dispersion.
• Experience troubleshooting extrusion processes and optimizing processing conditions.
• Ability to interpret physical, chemical, and process testing data to identify root causes.
• Good understanding of extrusion equipment including feeders, screws, dies, and related controls.

Responsibilities

• Optimize and improve polymer compounding processes for quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Lead setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of twin-screw extrusion across materials.
• Support scale-up of new formulations from lab to full-scale production.
• Establish and maintain processing parameters for consistent production.
• Troubleshoot extrusion issues: surging, surface defects, dispersion, colour variation.
• Coordinate with maintenance on equipment reliability and uptime, feeder calibration, screws, dies.
• Monitor critical process parameters: temperature, screw speed, torque, pressure, throughput.
• Analyze production and testing data for process improvements and CI initiatives.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production, and Maintenance on new materials and processes.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and build process knowledge for repeat production.
