Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research is hiring a PMUT / PiezoMEMS Device Characterization Engineer in Singapore. You will support development and evaluation of PMUT devices, focusing on characterization, measurement setups, data analysis, and performance evaluation.

The role suits fresh graduates to engineers with up to 5 years of related experience, collaborating with MEMS design, fabrication and process teams to optimize device performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, Microelectronics, or related discipline.
• 3 years of MEMS, semiconductor devices, sensors, transducers, acoustics, or device characterization experience.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory measurement equipment is preferred.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar tools is advantageous.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, mechanical, and acoustic characterization of PMUT and PiezoMEMS devices.
• Conduct measurements including impedance, resonance frequency, Q-factor, frequency response, bandwidth, transmit/receive sensitivity, and vibration characteristics.
• Operate characterization equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, impedance/network analyzers, probe stations, LDV, microphones, and hydrophones.
• Develop and improve device characterization procedures and measurement setups.
• Analyze measurement data and identify device performance trends and variations.
• Support automated measurement and data processing using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar tools.
• Work with device design and process teams to provide characterization feedback for device optimization.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain measurement documentation.
