Job summary

NEXT STATION PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Plumbing Design Drafter to support the preparation, coordination and management of plumbing, sanitary, water supply and related civil/structural drawings for building projects.

You will work independently to produce coordinated construction drawings from engineering information, architectural and site conditions, with strong AutoCAD and BIM coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Engineering Drafting or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering drafting experience in plumbing, sanitary, civil, structural, M&E or building construction projects.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience preparing plumbing and/or sanitary drawings.
• Prior experience on Singapore building or construction projects is required.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to independently produce complete construction and coordination drawings.
• Good working knowledge of Revit and BIM-based coordination workflows.
• Able to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil and M&E drawings.
• Familiarity with PUB requirements and Code of Practice on Sewerage and Sanitary Works.

Plumbing Design Drafter

We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Design Drafter to support the preparation, coordination and management of plumbing, sanitary, water supply and related civil / structural engineering drawings for building and construction projects in Singapore.

The successful candidate is expected to work independently with minimal supervision and be capable of producing coordinated construction drawings from engineering information, architectural drawings, structural drawings and site conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently prepare, develop and revise detailed plumbing, sanitary, water supply and related engineering drawings for construction projects.

• Prepare detailed plans, layouts, sections, elevations, schematics, installation details and as-built drawings.

• Develop coordinated drawings based on architectural, structural, civil and M&E drawings.

• Carry out detailed drawing coordination and identify clashes, discrepancies, insufficient clearances and constructability issues before work proceeds on site.

• Coordinate plumbing and sanitary pipe routes, pipe sizes, gradients, invert levels, floor penetrations, sleeves, shafts, risers, sanitary appliances and related services.

• Prepare drawings for water supply, sanitary plumbing, drainage and sewerage-related works where required.

• Interpret consultants' drawings, engineering calculations, specifications and technical requirements and convert them into accurate construction drawings.

• Review and incorporate consultants', engineers', architects' and clients' comments into revised drawings.

• Produce shop drawings, coordination drawings and as-built drawings based on actual installation and site information.

• Conduct site surveys and take accurate site measurements when required.

• Verify site dimensions and actual site conditions against design and construction drawings.

• Coordinate drawing requirements with project managers, engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors and other M&E trades.

• Resolve drawing coordination issues with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical and fire protection services.

• Maintain proper drawing revision control, drawing registers, submission records and technical documentation.

• Assist in preparation of authority submission drawings and supporting technical documents where required.

• Ensure drawings comply with applicable Singapore requirements, project specifications and established engineering drafting standards.

• Review drawings before issue and ensure dimensions, levels, references, annotations and technical details are complete and accurate.

• Support the engineering and project teams in resolving technical and site coordination matters.

• Perform other civil, structural, plumbing and engineering drafting duties required for project execution.

Job Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Diploma or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Engineering Drafting or a closely related technical discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering drafting experience in plumbing, sanitary, civil, structural, M&E or building construction projects.

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience preparing plumbing and/or sanitary engineering drawings.

• Prior experience working on Singapore building or construction projects is required.

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to independently produce complete construction and coordination drawings.

• Good working knowledge of Revit and BIM‑based coordination workflows.

• Able to independently read and interpret architectural, structural, civil and M&E construction drawings.

• Strong knowledge of plumbing and sanitary system layouts, including pipe routing, gradients, levels, risers, shafts, sanitary appliances and service coordination.

• Experience preparing shop drawings, coordination drawings and as‑built drawings.

• Experience carrying out site measurements and translating actual site conditions into accurate drawings.

• Able to identify and resolve drawing clashes between plumbing systems and architectural, structural and other M&E services.

• Able to work from consultants' drawings and specifications with minimal supervision.

• Strong understanding of drawing scales, dimensions, levels, sections, elevations, construction details and engineering drawing conventions.

• Familiar with Singapore construction practices and relevant plumbing and sanitary requirements.

• Familiarity with PUB requirements and the Code of Practice on Sewerage and Sanitary Works.

• Familiarity with applicable Singapore water services requirements and standards.

• Strong drawing checking ability and attention to technical accuracy.

• Able to manage multiple drawing revisions and project deadlines simultaneously.

• Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with engineers, project managers, consultants and site personnel.
