Job summary

AMPHENOL FCI CONNECTORS SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. seeks a laboratory chemist to support plating department activities and resolve chemical-related issues.

The role focuses on precious metal balance and laboratory testing of plating baths and waste streams. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with at least three years in a chemical lab, and demonstrated expertise in analytical instrumentation and chemical safety.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Min three years experience in laboratory work in chemical industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of chemical safety.
• Demonstrated knowledge of analytical instrumentation for electrodeposition.
• Demonstrated knowledge on chemical analysis and chemical instrumentation associated with electronic connector technology.
• Demonstrated ability to perform chemical analysis (ICP, AAS, UV, ASOMA).
• Ability to train others in proper handling of chemicals.
• Ability to train others to perform chemical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Use and/or calibrate analytical equipment.
• Perform precious metal balance report.
• Control the preventive measures.
• Perform chemical analyses on plating bath and waste plant’s discharge.
• Carry out chemical maintenance as planned by chemist.
• Support DI/waste plant operation.
• Support to resolve process or line issues.
• Maintain chemical inventory.
• Purchasing of chemicals used by the lab and production.
• Conduct training to laboratory technicians on handling and analyzing chemicals, equipment and instrumentation used.
• Authorize plating production line stoppage when chemical process or quality issues occur.

Provide technical support to the plating department laboratory and engineering and manufacturing activities. To resolve all chemical related issues. Major in charge precious metal balance.
