Job summary

Proofofsearch seeks an hands-on engineering lead to architect and deliver an institutional‑grade digital asset platform. You’ll own the platform layer APIs, portals, and automation, designing event-driven pipelines and scalable infrastructure that serve complex trade lifecycles.

You’ll ship working systems, lead a cross‑functional team, and push architectures with long‑term value. Expect to drive AI‑assisted workflows and tight code ownership in a fast‑moving fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building trading or market infrastructure in capital markets or fintech.
• Hands-on expertise in .NET and/or C++, with high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Strong command of event-driven architecture — Kafka or equivalent; with idempotency, replay, and fan-out.
• Production AWS experience with scale-aware compute, networking, storage, and cost decisions.
• Experience with tick databases/time-series data (kdb+/q, InfluxDB, TimescaleDB).
• Proven ability to lead and grow an engineering team while staying close to the codebase.
• Strong product instinct in technical contexts; owns roadmap and defends priorities.
• Builder mindset; digitising manual processes and driving automation.
• Practical exposure to AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows.
• FIX protocol, OMS/EMS, or exchange connectivity experience; crypto market structure familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and delivery of the platform layer: APIs, portals, and automation.
• Architect event-driven pipelines enabling scalable, low-latency trade workflows.
• Make architectural calls and back them with working systems shipped by the team.
• Lead a cross-functional engineering team, setting standards and reusable platform capabilities.
• Embed AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows where they add leverage.
