Job summary

JAC Recruitment Consultant is seeking a Platform Engineer for a 1-year direct contract in Singapore. The role focuses on building and maintaining the CI/CD platform and IT infrastructure to support the application development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Product, Infosec, and DevSecOps teams to implement security best practices and deliver resilient hosting environments. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Linux/Windows, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform,

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting IT infrastructure and CI/CD platforms.
• Experience maintaining Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows servers.
• Strong scripting skills: Bash, PowerShell; Python is a plus.
• Proficient with GitLab, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with security best practices and incident handling.
• Experience deploying microservices and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Knowledge of networking basics and troubleshooting.
• Experience with agile software development and DevSecOps practices.
• Certifications in DevOps/tools are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, implement, maintain, administer, support and improve IT infrastructure and CI/CD platform that are used to support application development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Product Team to onboard new product to the platform and to improve the existing application development process.
• Collaborate with Infosec Team on implementing security best practices on the applications, IT infrastructure and CI/CD platform.
• Collaborate internally within DevSecOps Team as well as with other teams to improve IT infrastructure, CI/CD platform and processes used for application development lifecycle.
• Own, recover and improve from incidents.
• Manage procurement, from issuing requirements until award.
• Manage implementation projects outsourced to external vendors.
• Develop policies, procedures and tools that manage changes to IT infrastructure and CI/CD platform.
• Share the knowledge and know-how to others; work with other team members to adopt and improve DevOps culture.
• Manage and provision hosting environments through code and implement tools to do so.

The client is looking for a Platform Engineer to join their ranks. Please find the job details below. This role is a 1-year direct contract with the client directly with opportunities to renew or convert to permanent basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify, develop, implement, maintain, administer, support and improve IT infrastructure and CI/CD platform that are used to support application development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the Product Team to onboard new product to the platform and to improve the existing application development process.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting the following tools:
  • Operating system: Linux (Redhat/Ubuntu) and MS Windows
  • Scripting: Bash and PowerShell with python(optional)
  • Repository and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery: GitLab, MS VSTS, Git
  • Testing tool: Playwright
  • Container/Container Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS and Helm Charts
  • Logging/Telemetry: Elastic and OTEL
  • Visualisations: Kibana
  • Security: Sonarqube, Gitlab SEP (Scan Execution Policy) and PEP (Pipeline Execution Policy).
  • Infrastructure as Code: Ansible, Terraform
  • Database: Redis, MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL
  • Cloud: AWS
• Knowledge in networking protocols and services (e.g. SFTP, DHCP, VLANs, routing, load balancer, etc) with hands‑on experience troubleshooting network issues.
• Hands‑on experience with application development using agile methodology.
• Experience in deploying micro‑service application.
• Experience in Incident , Change , inventory and security and patch management.
• Knowledge in using AI code assistant, deploying gen AI capabilities (AIOps) or operating/managing AI agents.
• Strong interest, curiosity and ambition to embrace agentic capabilities for infrastructure and cloud operations.
• Knowledge of various open source technologies.
• Good team player and communicator, with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Background in Computer Engineering/Computer Science preferred, candidate who demonstrate strong relevant experience and skill sets will be considered.
• Certifications in the above-mentioned tools on point 1, DevOps and/or application development using agile methodology would be advantageous.
• Good system troubleshooting skills.
