Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore is seeking a Planner/Senior Planner in Park Planning to help shape Singapore as a City in Nature through master planning and safeguarding parks, park connectors and green spaces. You will lead planning studies, formulate policies, and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs from multiple agencies.

You will evaluate land-use proposals and collaborate to advance climate and ecological resilience, while guiding junior staff and utilizing GIS and data-driven analysis

Qualifications

• Area of study in a built environment or environmental planning-related discipline.
• Strong interest in land use, planning and policy work.
• Strong strategic and systems-thinking skills.
• Ability to conduct objective, evidence-based analysis and exercise sound professional judgement.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to engage stakeholders and build consensus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role or policy work.
• Proficiency in GIS, spatial analysis, data visualisation or AI-enabled tools.

As a Planner / Senior Planner in Park Planning, you will play a key role in shaping Singapore as a City in Nature through the master planning and safeguarding of parks, park connectors and other green spaces. You will be expected to:

You will evaluate land-use proposals and guide the incorporation of greenery, recreational spaces and biodiversityconsiderations into new estates and developments in northern and/or western Singapore.

You will alsocollaborate with partner agencies toadvance national outcomes for climate, social and ecological resilience.

[What we are looking for]

• Area of study in a discipline related to the built environment or environmental planning, such as Urban Planning or Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Real Estate, Geography, Engineering, Environmental Science, Climate Change and Sustainability, or Ecology.

• A keen interest in land use, planning and policy work.

• Strong strategic and systems-thinking skills.

• Ability to conduct objective, evidence-based analysis, evaluate complex issues and exercise sound professional judgement.

• Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with management.

• Ability to engage stakeholders, negotiate effectively and build consensus.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role or in policy work, with a strong track record of managing and delivering projects across competing priorities.

• Proficiency in GIS, spatial analysis, data visualisation or AI-enabled tools.
