Job description

What the role is

As a Planner / Senior Planner in Park Planning, you will play a key role in shaping Singapore as a City in Nature through the master planning and safeguarding of parks, park connectors and other green spaces. You will be expected to:

  • Lead planning studies and reviews of complex development proposals.
  • Formulate planning strategies, policies and recommendations.
  • Safeguard land for parks, park connectors and green networks.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary and inter-agency inputs.
  • Prepare recommendations for management's consideration.
  • Guide junior officers and support team capability development.
What you will be working on

You will evaluate land-use proposals and guide the incorporation of greenery, recreational spaces and biodiversity considerations into new estates and developments in northern and/or western Singapore.

You will also collaborate with partner agencies to advance national outcomes for climate, social and ecological resilience.

What we are looking for
  • Area of study in a discipline related to the built environment or environmental planning, such as Urban Planning or Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Real Estate, Geography, Engineering, Environmental Science, Climate Change and Sustainability, or Ecology.
  • A keen interest in land use, planning and policy work.
  • Strong strategic and systems-thinking skills.
  • Ability to conduct objective, evidence-based analysis, evaluate complex issues and exercise sound professional judgement.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with management.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders, negotiate effectively and build consensus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role or in policy work, with a strong track record of managing and delivering projects across competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in GIS, spatial analysis, data visualisation or AI-enabled tools.
