Job summary

NES GLOBAL PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks experienced Piping QA/QC Engineers / Inspectors to support piping quality, inspection, testing and completion for a major infrastructure project in Tuas.

The role requires coordinating test packages, weld maps, hydrotest procedures, NCR closure and punch-list management, with strong liaison to construction, engineering and QA/QC stakeholders. Immediate start on a 6-month contract, extendable, site-based delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong documentation, coordination and communication skills.
• Experience with piping construction, inspection, testing and system completion.
• Able to read P&IDs, piping isometrics and related engineering docs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit piping system test packages including WSC packages.
• Prepare weld map drawings for piping systems with traceability of weld joints.
• Review hydrotest boundaries and prepare hydrotest procedures with flushing/cleaning plans.
• Coordinate and witness piping inspection and testing activities.
• Monitor installation/quality against drawings, specs and project requirements.
• Coordinate hydrostatic testing, flushing, cleaning and system reinstatement.
• Track punch-list items and drive timely closure with stakeholders.
• Follow up NCRs and coordinate corrective actions through to closure.
• Plan inspections with construction teams and ensure timely QA/QC documentation.

Piping QA/QC Engineer / Inspector

Location: Tuas, Singapore
Project: Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF)

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Piping QA/QC Engineers / Inspectors to support piping quality, inspection, testing and completion activities for a major infrastructure project in Singapore.

The successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating piping QA/QC documentation, inspection activities, system test packages, weld mapping, hydrotesting, punch-list management and NCR closure. The role requires strong coordination with construction, engineering, QA/QC and other relevant project stakeholders to ensure piping systems are completed and handed over in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit outstanding WSC piping system test packages.
• Prepare and issue weld map drawings for piping systems, ensuring accurate identification and traceability of weld joints.
• Review and finalise hydrotest boundaries based on piping drawings, system requirements and construction readiness.
• Prepare and submit hydrotest procedures, including associated flushing and cleaning plans.
• Coordinate and witness piping inspection and testing activities as required.
• Monitor piping installation and quality activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate hydrostatic testing, flushing, cleaning and system reinstatement activities.
• Track project punch-list items, coordinate with relevant parties and drive timely closure.
• Follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate corrective actions through to final closure.
• Plan and coordinate inspections with construction teams, contractors, inspectors and relevant project stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate QA/QC records and ensure required inspection and testing documentation is completed and submitted on time.
• Review relevant piping drawings, isometrics, inspection records and supporting quality documentation.
• Identify quality issues during piping installation and testing and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
• Support system completion, turnover and handover activities.
• Ensure all inspection and quality activities are performed in accordance with applicable project procedures and HSE requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience as a Piping QA/QC Engineer, Piping Inspector, Mechanical QA/QC Engineer or similar position.
• Practical experience with piping construction, inspection, testing and system completion activities.
• Strong knowledge of weld maps, piping isometrics, inspection documentation and test packages.
• Hands-on experience preparing or coordinating hydrotest packages, test boundaries, flushing and cleaning activities.
• Experience managing punch lists and NCR follow-up/closure.
• Familiarity with piping welding, inspection and quality-control processes.
• Able to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, drawings and relevant engineering documentation.
• Experience working on Waste-to-Energy, power plant, process plant, petrochemical, oil & gas, utilities or major EPC projects would be advantageous.
• Strong documentation, coordination and communication skills.
• Able to work effectively with construction, engineering, QA/QC, contractors and client representatives in a site-based environment.
• Able to commence work at short notice would be advantageous.
