Qualifications

  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in clinical/community care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications accurately in line with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Pack medications for delivery and unit-dose packaging.
  • Manage inventory, stock counts, and supplier interactions.

The Role

At Hua Mei Clinic (Whampoa) , we are committed to delivering holistic and patient-centred healthcare to the community, with a strong focus on caring for older adults. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Pharmacy Technician to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this role, you will support the safe and effective management of medications through medication dispensing, packing, inventory management, medication reconciliation, and patient education. You will work closely with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, clinic executives, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes and medication safety.

Please note that this is a part-time position. The salary displayed reflects the full-time equivalent salary range. The actual salary offered will be a fraction of the listed salary and will be commensurate with the agreed working hours and days.

Key Responsibilities
Medication Dispensing & Packing
  • Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed medications in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Perform unit-dose packaging, pill boxing, and other specialised medication packing to support medication adherence.
  • Review medication orders and identify potential discrepancies or drug interactions.
  • Ensure medications are stored and labelled appropriately.
Inventory Management
  • Perform stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Procure and receive medications from approved vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels, expiry dates, pricing changes, and stock replenishment needs.
Medication Reconciliation
  • Conduct medication reconciliation during patient visits to ensure accurate and updated medication records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related discrepancies.
Patient Education
  • Provide medication counselling to patients, family members, and caregivers.
  • Educate patients on proper medication use, adherence, and potential side effects.
  • Address medication-related enquiries professionally and respectfully.
Medication Safety & Compliance
  • Follow established medication safety protocols and reporting procedures.
  • Stay updated on medication recalls, safety alerts, and pharmaceutical developments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of dispensing activities, interventions, and inventory records.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations and clinic policies.
Team Collaboration
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary care discussions.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and clinic executives to deliver quality patient care.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the clinic.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmaceutical Technology, or equivalent.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician qualification will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience in a clinical, primary care, community care, or geriatric healthcare setting will be preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Good knowledge of medication dispensing, packaging, and inventory management.
  • Understanding of medication safety principles, drug interactions, and pharmacy regulations in Singapore.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with elderly patients and caregivers.
  • Meticulous, organised, and committed to patient safety.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn in a dynamic healthcare environment.
