Job summary

Sumitomo Chemical Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a highly organized Chemist to perform chemical and physical analyses of petrochemical products. You will operate a range of lab instruments, prepare calibration standards, and develop analytical methods to support QA/QC.

A detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a commitment to continuous improvement is essential. The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor in Chemistry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Chemistry or related field.
• 3–5 years in a chemical/analytical laboratory.
• Experience with petrochemical samples is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and methodical approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical and physical analyses of petrochemical samples using established methods.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab instruments.
• Prepare calibration standards and reagents accurately.
• Develop, validate, and document analytical methods.
• Investigate instrument-related problems and report results promptly.
• Maintain lab records, data, and documentation.
• Manage reagents and consumables inventory.
• Support quality management system improvements.
• Follow health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
