Job summary

Town Vets Animal Clinic is seeking a full-time receptionist to join a busy small-animal clinic. You will be the first point of contact for clients, handle appointments, inquiries, and day-to-day coordination between clients and the veterinary team.

The role requires strong English communication, warmth, and organization. Training will be provided, and Mandarin is a plus but not required. You will work in a friendly team to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Strong spoken and written English.
• Warm and professional communication.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to prioritize and think on your feet in a busy environment.
• Comfortable working closely with veterinarians, nurses and other reception staff.
• Computer literate and willing to learn new systems.
• Previous customer service or client-facing experience preferred.
• Mandarin would be useful, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Handling calls, messages, emails and client enquiries.
• Arranging appointments and helping clients book the appropriate type of visit.
• Welcoming clients and their pets to the clinic.
• Managing waiting times and keeping clients updated when we are busy.
• Processing payments and completing client paperwork.
• Maintaining accurate client and patient records.
• Coordinating with the veterinary and nursing teams throughout the day.
• Handling difficult or sensitive situations calmly and tactfully.
• General reception and administrative duties needed to keep the clinic running smoothly.
