Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is seeking a Server Engineer – SME (L3) in Singapore with hands-on experience supporting Lenovo, Dell, and HPE servers in enterprise environments.

You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and upgrade server hardware, manage RAID and storage, and coordinate with vendor support for warranty/RMA. The role involves incident and change management and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of server/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Hands-on with two or more of Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Lenovo Think System.
• Knowledge of iDRAC, iLO, and Lenovo XClarity.
• Strong RAID, SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and enterprise storage knowledge.
• Experience with BIOS/firmware/drivers and lifecycle management.
• Experience with Windows Server and/or Linux.
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
• Vendor support and warranty/RMA processes.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a Server Engineer – SME (L3) with strong hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Lenovo, Dell, and HPE servers in enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Lenovo, Dell, and HPE physical servers.
• Manage server hardware components including CPU, memory, RAID, disks, power supplies, NICs, and storage controllers.
• Perform server firmware, BIOS, driver, and hardware lifecycle upgrades.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures and coordinate with Lenovo, Dell, and HPE support for warranty/RMA cases.
• Monitor server health, hardware alerts, performance, and capacity.
• Manage RAID configuration, disk replacement, firmware updates, and hardware diagnostics.
• Support server operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux.
• Work with virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Support server deployments, migrations, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Maintain server documentation, asset records, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Provide L2/L3 or SME-level technical support and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and act as the escalation point for server-related issues.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–8+ years of experience in server/infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with at least two, preferably all three, of: Dell Power Edge HPE ProLiant Lenovo Think System
• Good knowledge of iDRAC, iLO, and Lenovo XClarity.
• Strong understanding of RAID, SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and enterprise storage.
• Experience with BIOS, firmware, drivers, hardware diagnostics, and server lifecycle management.
• Good knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux.
• Experience supporting VMware or Hyper-V environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience working with vendor support and hardware warranty/RMA processes.
• Good understanding of enterprise data-center operations.
