Job summary

ST Engineering's eServ unit seeks a Payroll Specialist to join a team that processes payroll for a large organisation. You will ensure data accuracy when transferring information from HRIS to the Payroll System and support end-to-end salary payouts for 500+ employees.

You will coordinate with HR partners, handle contributions and claims, provide payroll reporting, and respond to inquiries. The role requires 3+ years of payroll/claims experience, SAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills, with

• 3+ years of end-to-end payroll and/or claims processing experience
• Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Excel
• Strong data accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to handle inquiries from employees and clients
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment is preferred

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for 500+ employees, including salary calculations, CPF/NS where applicable, and payroll reporting.
• Coordinate with HR business partners to gather inputs for pay elements and ensure data integrity.
• Investigate data discrepancies and provide solutions to improve payroll processes and accuracy.
• Prepare payroll communications and respond to employee inquiries in a timely, professional manner.

You will be required to work in a team to process payroll for multiple cycles (main & off-cycle). At the same time, you will also facilitate to ensure that data interfaced from HR Information System to the Payroll System are accurate to ensure accurate and timely salary pay-outs. Where required, you will be required to provide feedback and highlight improvements to the systems to enhance operational effectiveness.

Process

Process end-to-end payroll for an organisation with a headcount of 500 or more, including but not limited to, pro-ration of salary for new hires and resignees, submission of monthly CPF and refunds, submission of NS and Government Paid Leave claims, processing transport/dental claims from employees, ensuring accuracy of bank details and timely submission of bank files,providing payroll GL to the finance team for reconciliation.

Coordinate

Correspond with HR business partners to retrieve data and inputs necessary for relevant pay elements.

Investigate

Report data inaccuracies in payroll systems and report to managers and clients for advice. Highlight and recommend improvements and solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Audit

Maintain a secured archival of payroll files to support annual and ad-hoc audit exercises.

Communicate

Provide clear and concise responses to any queries raised through email by employees and/or clientsin a professional manner to achieve positive customer experience.

Qualities We Value

• Minimum GCE ‘O’ Levels, ‘A’ Levels or Diploma
• Minimum 3 years of experience in end-to-end payroll and/or claims processing, preferably with knowledge of SAP systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, minimally Intermediate level
• Individuals with customer-facing experience will be preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Meticulous and have a keen eye for details with an inquiring mind.
