Job summary

Institute of Mental Health in Singapore seeks a Patient Service Assistant (BMU-ES) to support the Bed Management Unit and Emergency Services with administrative, clerical and logistical tasks. You will handle counter services, registration, appointments, cash collection, and admissions, while aiding bed assignments and report generation.

The role requires 1 year in healthcare, strong English/Mandarin or Malay communication, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Diploma holder or GCE ‘O’ Level.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Fluent in English and/or Mandarin, Malay, or common dialect.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to commit to 3 rotating shifts (7am–2:45pm, 1:45pm–9:30pm, 9pm–7:30am) including long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient registration, financial counselling, billing and appointment scheduling.
• Monitor bed availability and assign beds for admissions based on patient needs and acuity.
• Foster strong relationships with nursing teams and stakeholders to resolve bed assignment challenges.
• Provide operational and logistical support including purchasing and maintaining office inventory.
