Job summary

Qualifications

• Medically qualified doctor with postgraduate training in anatomic pathology.
• Degree in Biomedical Sciences or related field.
• Preferably experience in grossing pathology specimens.
• Willing to work under the direction and supervision of pathologists.
• Willing to work with other laboratory staff for efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Gross examination and dissection of anatomic pathology specimens.
• Prepare tissue for tests including frozen section, flow cytometry, IHC.
• Photo gross specimens.
• Provide fresh tissue to tissue repository and research projects.
• Assist residents in grossing specimens.
• Support frozen section duties at satellite laboratories as required.
• Operate digital whole slide image scanner.
• Assist in specimen accessioning, cassette printing, and handling.
• Assist in maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Assist in specimen storage/disposal.
• Participate in Quality Assurance / Process Improvement.
• Assist in other laboratory sections as required.
• Any other duties as required by the laboratory.

• Prepare tissue for numerous pathological tests including frozen section, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical staining.
• Photo gross specimens
• Provide fresh tissue to tissue repository and research projects
• Assist pathology residents in grossing specimens
• Support frozen section duties at satellite laboratories as required
• Operate digital whole slide image scanner
• Assist in specimen accessioning, cassette printing, specimen handling and fixation prior to grossing.
• Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Assist in specimen storage/disposal
• Participate in Quality Assurance / Process Improvement activities.

• Any other duties as required by the laboratory.
