Job summary

IPOS International is seeking a Patent Analyst to work in small teams on consultancy projects, engaging clients from problem scoping to delivering strategic recommendations. You will analyse patent data, map trends, and present insights to support R&D, investment, and business decisions.

The role requires a degree in science or engineering, strong analytical skills, and experience with data visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or Engineering required.
• Aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Strong visualisation skills with Excel, R, Python, Power BI or Tableau a plus.
• Knowledge of IP, patents, tech management or BI advantageous.
• Experience in consulting, research analysis or foresight studies is a plus.
• Analytical and curious with ability to explain complex ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients to understand needs, define problem statements, and scope projects.
• Identify, gather, and synthesise patent data from diverse sources.
• Formulate hypotheses using statistical analysis, trend mapping, and content analysis.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations with clear visuals and reports.
• Collaborate with client teams to validate insights and develop strategic options.
• Support improvement of internal methodologies and visualization tools.
