Job summary

Lyza Education in Singapore is seeking a part-time Coding Educator to design and deliver engaging coding lessons for students aged 10 to 17, helping learners build foundational programming skills in a supportive classroom. You will develop and update teaching materials aligned with curriculum goals, foster a positive learning environment, and collaborate with team members.

Weekend availability (Sundays preferred) and enthusiasm to learn are required; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline; CS/Engineering/Math/Science preferred.
• Strong communication and student engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Teaching or tutoring experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Python, JavaScript (ReactJS), Java or C/C++ is a plus.
• Weekend availability, Sundays preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging coding and technology lessons for students aged 10 to 17 to build foundational programming skills
• Develop and update teaching materials aligned with curriculum goals to enhance student learning outcomes
• Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and productive classroom environment to maximize student engagement
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with students and parents to support student progress and communication
• Monitor and incorporate current trends and advancements in educational technology and coding education into lesson plans
• Collaborate effectively with team members and perform additional duties as required to support centre operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline; computer science, engineering, mathematics, or science preferred
• Demonstrated strong communication skills through effective teaching and student engagement
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience in group or individual settings is advantageous
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript (ReactJS), Java, and/or C/C++ is a plus
• Enthusiasm for teaching and willingness to learn; training will be provided for candidates without direct experience
• Availability on at least one weekend day (Sundays preferred)
