Job summary

Smartdeer Services Centre in Singapore is seeking a coffee professional dedicated to crafting quality beverages and delivering warm, sincere service to delight customers. You will support trainee baristas, helping them develop coffee operation skills and knowledge across shift duties.

You will maintain operational standards, assist with store tasks such as opening/closing, cashier duties, product recommendations, and keep front-and-back of-house areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

• Basic daily English conversational ability to take orders and handle inquiries.
• Mandarin Chinese preferred to facilitate communication with customers and team.
• Malay language is a bonus.
• Passion for coffee and the service industry with ability to operate coffee equipment.
• Polite demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Coffee, tea or food and beverage work experience.

Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver high-quality coffee and warm, genuine service to customers.
• Mentor trainee baristas to develop coffee operation skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to operational standards and complete shift tasks and objectives including opening/closing, preparation, customer service, product recommendations, cashier duties.

Key responsibilities

Consistently deliver high-quality coffee and warm, genuine service to customers

Assist in mentoring trainee baristas to accelerate their coffee operation skills and knowledge development

Adhere to operational standards and complete shift tasks and business objectives including store opening/closing, coffee and beverage preparation, customer service, product and membership recommendations, cashier duties and related services

Proactively maintain cleanliness and organisation of store areas including front of house, back of house, bar counter and storage areas

Support store manager with other store operational matters

About you

Basic daily English conversational ability to independently take orders, introduce products, respond to customer enquiries and handle simple complaints; able to understand local customer daily communication

Fluent Mandarin Chinese preferred to facilitate communication with Chinese customers and team

Basic Malay language is a bonus

Passion for coffee and the service industry with ability to independently operate coffee equipment and create latte art

Polite demeanour, appropriate conduct and neat personal appearance

Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills with strong teamwork spirit

Coffee, tea or food and beverage work experience
