Job summary

Good Job Creations Singapore is seeking a qualified Optometrist to conduct comprehensive eye examinations, operate advanced diagnostic equipment, and provide professional eye-health guidance to patients in a clinic setting.

You will recommend suitable spectacles and contact lenses, manage inventory, and support junior staff while ensuring high standards of patient care and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Qualified optometrist with registration
• Knowledge of eye examination procedures and vision care
• Experience with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment is preferred
• Ability to explain findings and provide recommendations to patients

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and identify vision defects and diseases.
• Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment (slit-lamp, OCT, fundus camera, tonometer, visual field tools).
• Explain findings and provide professional eye-health advice to patients.
• Recommend spectacles and contact lenses based on results and patient needs.
• Prepare referrals to ophthalmologists when needed.
• Provide guidance to first-time contact lens wearers on handling and care.
• Manage inventory of contact lenses, trial lenses and care products.
• Fitting adjustments for spectacles and ophthalmic lenses; troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain accurate patient records including eye health data and purchase history.
• Ensure diagnostic tools remain in good working condition.
• Support the training and development of junior Optometrists and Opticians.
• Carry out additional duties to support clinic operations.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to identify vision defects, eye diseases, abnormalities, and injuries.
• Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, including slit-lamp biomicroscopes, fundus cameras, optical coherence tomography (OCT), non-contact tonometers, and visual field analysers.
• Explain examination findings and provide professional advice on eye health and vision care.
• Recommend suitable optical solutions, including spectacles and contact lenses, based on patients' needs and examination results.
• Prepare referrals to ophthalmologists for cases requiring further medical evaluation and treatment.
• Provide training and guidance to first-time contact lens wearers on proper lens handling and care.
• Manage inventory levels of contact lenses, trial lenses, and contact lens care products.
• Perform troubleshooting and fitting adjustments for spectacles and ophthalmic lenses.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including eye health information and purchase history.
• Ensure diagnostic equipment and measurement tools remain in good working condition.
• Support the training and development of junior Optometrists and Opticians.
• Carry out additional duties assigned in support of clinic operations.

Requirements:

• Pre-Registered or Fully Registered Optometrist qualification.
• Strong knowledge of eye examination procedures, vision care, and ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to explain clinical findings and provide professional recommendations to patients.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-focused approach.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and manage inventory efficiently.
• Experience in an optical retail environment is an added advantage.
• Experience in supervising, training, or mentoring team members is an added advantage.
