Job summary

Excelitas Technologies Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking an Optical Coatings Technician to join its production team. You will perform lapping, polishing, washing and inspection of optical components, operate coating equipment and ensure process compliance.

The role requires a Higher Nitec or Diploma in Engineering, 1–2 years in manufacturing, and ability to read SOPs. You should be comfortable with rotating or 12-hour shifts and proficient in MS Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Must have Higher Nitec or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing industry.
• Experience in optics polishing or thin film manufacturing is an advantage.
• Ability to read, understand and provide training on SOPs and work instructions.
• Good understanding of product quality and EHS regulations and requirements.
• Flexible to work overtime; rotating or 12-hour shifts.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform lapping, polishing, washing and inspection of optical components per SOP and quality standards.
• Operate coating equipment, troubleshoot basics and ensure process compliance.
• Conduct in-process quality checks and maintain production records.
• Handle optics properly; maintain housekeeping and comply with EHS standards.
• Monitor coating process and guide coaters at other machines.
• Support productivity, yield improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform spectral measurements according to specifications using proper templates.
• Undertake additional production responsibilities as required.
