Job summary

Singtel is building an AI-first telco for the future, seeking a Network Operations professional to analyse capacity, manage the digital inventory and collaborate with partners for timely project delivery.

You will work on-site with vendors, improve DI-driven processes, and support critical infrastructure across networks and services. A Diploma in Engineering/Telecommunications is required; strong TCP/IP and routing skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering/Telecommunications or related field.
  • Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving ability and delivery focus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in telecom transport networks including OTN, Ethernet, DWDM.
  • Solid TCP/IP, IP addressing and routing protocol knowledge.
  • Experience with networking hardware from major vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Study and analyse network capacity usage; plan changes to optimise and expand the network.
  • Generate monthly reports from digital inventory; monitor utilisation and trends.
  • Keep inventory assets and circuit routings updated in the Digital Inventory system.
  • Ensure accuracy of ILC infrastructure records in DI; coordinate with partners.
  • Enhance DI features to support ILC services and automated circuit assignment.
  • Streamline inventory control processes for lean operations.
  • Document network designs and topology diagrams for training and reference.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders for capacity requests and new orders.
  • Work with external partners and vendors; participate in on-site activities.
  • Standby during assigned weeks to support operations and outages.

How You will Make An Impact:

  • Study and analyse utilization of the network capacity resources, plan and implement changes to optimise and expand the network.
  • Generate monthly reports via digital inventory to monitor network utilization, analyse trends and provide suggestions for improvement.
  • Ensure all inventory assets, utilization, circuit routings are updated in the digital inventory in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the inventory record accuracy of ILC infrastructure in Digital Inventory (DI) system including the bilateral fibre connectivity with partners.
  • Enhance the features and usability of the DI to support ILC services and how the circuit assignment can be optimized/automated through DI by working with the portal development team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Streamlined process for inventory control, to achieve leaner and efficient operations.
  • Document network design, configurations topology diagrams for ongoing processes, references and training purposes.
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders such as AM, CS, PM for capacity request and new sales order.
  • To work with external parties including bilateral partners and vendors.
  • Perform Ad-hoc restoration during outage, plan restoration using existing available capacity within specific SLA.
  • Manage different projects, monitor timeline and resources to ensure project delivery within specific timelines.
  • To remain on standby via call during assigned week to support Operations and respond to urgent request and outages for circuit restoration.
  • Go on site for assigned activities to work with vendors for system planning and implementation and migration activities.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Skills for Success:

  • Diploma in Engineering/Telecommunications or in relevant field.
  • Goal-oriented with good analytical skills to solve problem. Candidate must be committed and driven to deliver projects assigned on time.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Experience in telecom environment with focus on transport network, optical transmission and ethernet technologies.
  • Good understanding of transport network architectures including OTN and Ethernet, DWDM.
  • Flexible individual who is adaptable to change with a proactive mindset to take on new challenges.
  • Good technical skill set with knowledge of L2 and L3 networking and strong understanding of TCP/IP, IP addressing, and routing protocols.
  • Experience with networking hardware from major vendors.
