Job summary

SEARCHELECT PTE. LTD. is seeking an Optical Network Engineer to join our client’s team in Singapore. The role focuses on operating and maintaining advanced submarine cable infrastructure, with emphasis on SDH, DWDM, and Ethernet technologies.

You will provide O&M support for DWDM/SDH/Ethernet/IP/MPLS, perform installation/commissioning/upgrades, and assist in submarine cable repair operations. Travel across Singapore and overseas regions is included in the role.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in network operations or a related field.
Strong knowledge of SDH, DWDM, Ethernet and submarine cable system operations.
Experience with installing, commissioning, and upgrading transmission equipment.
Proficient in using SDH/DWDM, Ethernet OTDR and COTDR testing tools.
Willingness to travel and work rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

Provide operations and maintenance support for DWDM/SDH/Ethernet/IP/MPLS and submarine cable landing stations' SLTEs.
Troubleshoot Level 1 faults with NOC and service providers to ensure timely resolution.
Support service delivery and provisioning for Carrier/Metro Ethernet, SDH/DWDM, IP/MPLS, and international circuits.
Perform installation, commissioning, and upgrades of transmission/DWDM/IP/MPLS and related devices.
Assist in submarine cable repair operations and COTDR testing with repair ships.
Maintain inventory and update OSS/BSS tools; support audits.
Participate in rotational shifts and 24/7 standby with travel to PoPs in Singapore and overseas.
