Job summary

Tech Aalto is seeking an Operations Support Engineer (Software Engineering) to support production applications, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to engineering fixes. This role blends technical support with coding and scripting within a software development team.

The successful candidate will ensure reliability, stability, and performance of enterprise and cloud-based systems while collaborating with engineering, product, and support teams. 2–5 years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in Technical Operations, Application Support, Software Engineering, or similar role.
• Experience supporting production applications, cloud-based platforms, or enterprise systems.
• Strong troubleshooting across web apps, APIs, integrations, networking, or cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to read, understand, and modify application code for troubleshooting and bug fixing.
• Hands-on scripting or programming in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, SQL, or similar technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for production applications, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents using logs, monitoring tools, browser developer tools, and system diagnostics.
• Troubleshoot issues across web applications, APIs, integrations, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
• Read, understand, and modify application code to support troubleshooting and bug fixing.
• Develop scripts or small utilities to improve troubleshooting, automate recurring tasks, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Implement and validate minor bug fixes or software changes under guidance and code review.
• Take on development or engineering tickets when required and work collaboratively with the software engineering team.
• Manage support tickets, communicate clearly with users and stakeholders, and drive incidents through to resolution.
• Participate in Agile and cross-functional product team workflows.
• Balance operational support responsibilities with engineering work based on team and product priorities.

Role Overview

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical support background who is also comfortable reading code, writing scripts,and working on small engineering tasks within a software development team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, stability, and performance of enterprise and cloud-based systems while collaborating closely with engineering, product, and support teams.

• Familiarity withGit/source control, code review, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Experience managingsupport tickets, stakeholder communication, and incident resolution.
• Experience working inAgile or cross-functional product teams.
• Ability to adapt quickly and switch between operational and engineering priorities.

Technical Knowledge

Working knowledge of some or all of the following:

• Cloud platforms,preferably AWS
• Web technologiessuch as HTTP, REST APIs, JSON, and JavaScript
