Job summary

Cummins is seeking an Operations Intern to join our team in Pandan Ave, Singapore. This onsite role offers exposure to end-to-end warehouse operations, documentation control, and continuous improvement initiatives within a major WMS implementation project.

You will support the Operations Excellence team in updating SOPs, WI templates, process flows and forms, while collaborating with Operations, Quality, IT, Materials and Training to drive efficiency, compliance and process standardization

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in a related field and be available for a 6-month or longer internship in Singapore.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects and track action items, meeting minutes, updates and progress trackers.
• Review and update SOPs, work instructions, process flows and forms related to the WMS implementation.
• Support mapping of current and future-state warehouse processes and identify improvement opportunities.

We are looking for a talented Operations Intern to join our team in Pandan Ave, Singapore. This is an Onsite role. Internship period will be 6 months or longer, depend on Singapore college/universities session.

Support the Operations Excellence team in updating and standardizing operational documentation during the Warehouse Management System (WMS) transition and implementation. While providing support and assistance in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Additional Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination

• Track documentation and process improvement action items.
• Prepare meeting minutes, project updates, and progress trackers.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, IT, Materials, and Training.

WMS Documentation Support

• Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), process flows, and forms impacted by the WMS implementation.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, controlled, and aligned with the new system requirements.
• Coordinate with process owners to gather information and validate documentation updates.
• Support document version control and central repository management.

Process Improvement

• Assist in mapping current and future-state warehouse processes.
• Support the identification of process gaps, improvement opportunities, and standardization initiatives.
• Participate in Kaizen, Lean, and continuous improvement projects.
• Collect and analyze operational data to support improvement recommendations.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, 5S, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Experience with process mapping tools is an advantage.
• Strong documentation skills, ensuring processes, procedures, and records are accurately captured and maintained.
