Job summary

DBS Bank Ltd in Singapore seeks an Operational Risk Manager to provide objective review and challenge to business units and ensure operational risk is properly identified, managed and resilient.

You will deliver Line 2 risk oversight for assigned lines, monitor risk metrics, lead thematic reviews and develop risk policies and mitigation programmes.

Requirements include a university degree, 8+ years in banks, strong communication, data-driven problem solving and stakeholder influence.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years in banks or financial institutions.
• Strong understanding of operational risk concepts, metrics and tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead risk reviews and drive remediation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, objective review and challenge to the units to ensure operational risk is adequately and effectively identified, assessed and managed, and ensure operational resilience within units.
• Conduct independent assessment and monitoring of operational risk by reviewing operational risk metrics (risk events, risk & control self-assessment results, key risk indicators, etc), and assessing if there are systemic/thematic risk concerns that warrant deeper analysis and escalation to senior management
• Conduct thematic risk reviews to identify major areas of risks and control improvements
• Develop and maintain operational risk polices and mitigation programmes
• Develop and implement initiatives (such as training programme and communication/ awareness activities) to enhance risk culture and awareness in the units
• Drive/lead changes in various risk tools to improve operational risk management
• Participate in the team’s ongoing projects and initiatives
