Job summary

BW Offshore is seeking an Operational Data Manager in Singapore to lead governance, integrity and trust in asset and operational data across the FPSO fleet. You will set data standards, controls and compliance for engineering handover through real-time operations, including data from SCADA, IIoT and CMMS systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, information management or a related discipline.
• 15+ years in offshore oil & gas, FPSO, marine or asset-intensive industry.
• Experience delivering data governance, clean-up or migration programmes at fleet or enterprise scale.
• Established data standards and stewardship across organisational boundaries.
• Familiarity with industrial data platforms (Cognite Data Fusion, PI / AVEVA, OSDU or equivalent).
• Confident in challenging EPCs, vendors and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the data governance framework and standards across the FPSO fleet.
• Govern operational data across historian, SCADA / DCS, IIoT, maintenance, reliability, production.
• Define governance principles for industrial data platforms and data lakes.
• Direct fleet-wide data clean-up, set quality metrics and dashboards.
• Assess risk from data aggregation and manage information security implications.
• Hold a Digital Tool Owner mandate and own the SLA for operational tools.
• Drive adoption of data standards across multiple functions by influence.

We are looking for an Operational Data Manager who will be accountable for the governance, integrity and trustworthiness of all asset and operational data across our FPSO fleet. This role sets the data standards, controls and compliance framework that project teams, EPCs, vendors and operational functions must deliver against. It covers not only engineering and project handover data, but also the data generated every day by our operations: maintenance, reliability, production, process, historian, SCADA / DCS, IIoT, condition monitoring and integrity systems. The Operational Data Manager also governs how data is classified, accessed and protected when aggregated into enterprise and industrial data platforms. The role sits within the Operations department and reports to the Senior Manager, Operational Performance.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Own the data governance framework and standards for all asset and operational data across the FPSO fleet — from engineering handover to real-time operations
• Govern operational data across the full spectrum: historian, SCADA / DCS, IIoT, condition monitoring, maintenance, reliability, production, inspection and integrity
• Define governance principles for industrial data platforms and data lakes (Cognite Data Fusion, PI / AVEVA, OSDU or equivalent), ensuring data aggregation does not bypass ownership, classification or access controls
• Direct fleet-wide data clean-up, set quality metrics and build dashboards that detect problems at source
• Assess and manage operational data and information risk — particularly the consequences of aggregating previously separated datasets into common platforms
• Hold a Digital Tool Owner mandate directly and own the SLA guideline for operational digital tools
• Drive adoption of data standards across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, Digital and project organisations — establishing governance through influence, not just authority

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, information management or a related discipline
• 15+ years in offshore oil & gas, FPSO, marine or comparable asset-intensive industry
• Delivered data governance, clean-up or migration programmes at fleet or enterprise scale
• Established data standards and stewardship across organisational boundaries — able to challenge EPCs, vendors and senior stakeholders
• ISO 14224, ISO 55013 and enterprise CMMS / EAM (IFS Cloud preferred; SAP PM or Maximo relevant)
• Data confidentiality, information security and the risks of aggregating operational datasets into common platforms
• Industrial data platforms (Cognite Data Fusion, PI / AVEVA, OSDU or equivalent) — practical familiarity is an advantage
• Degree in engineering, information management or a related discipline

Skills

• Communicates the business and risk consequences of poor data — not just the technical detail
• Leads through influence across Operations, Engineering, IT and project organisations without relying on direct authority
• Analytically strong (Agentic AI, Excel / Power Query minimum; SQL or Power BI an advantage)
• Professional working proficiency in English
