Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Asset Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years in operational excellence, reliability, maintenance management, or performance improvement within oil and gas or asset-intensive industries.
• Hands-on experience leading or participating in structured operational assessments or audits.
• Proven delivery of measurable improvement outcomes at site or multi-site level.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and report scored OE reviews across the fleet with structured evidence collection.
• Coach asset teams through annual self-assessments against OE Management Standard elements.
• Drive improvements across themes: reliable performance, care and discipline, efficient execution, performance understanding, and data-driven improvement.
• Maintain a fleet-wide OE gaps view and propose priorities based on impact, cost, risk and feasibility.
• Support reliability analysis, defect elimination, maintenance strategy review, and production loss reduction at asset level.
• Advise project teams on OE readiness including data, systems, KPIs, and processes before operations begin.
• Act as OE champion across the organisation and build assessor capability within asset teams.
• Benchmark asset performance against industry practice and translate findings into prioritised actions with measurable outcomes.

We are looking for an Operational Excellence Champion to join the Operational Performance function. You will have been in past roles as Operations, Maintenance Manager or Asset Manager with a passion for influencing overall organisational performance. Thisrole drives Operational Excellence across the fleet. You will lead scored OEassessments, coach asset teams through self-verification, and turn findingsinto prioritised improvement actions that deliver measurable results. Youwill work across all five themes of the OE Management Standard — reliableperformance, care and discipline, efficient execution, performanceunderstanding, and data-driven improvement. The role spans assessment,performance improvement, fleet-level opportunity identification, new-project OEreadiness, and capability building.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Plan, lead, and report scored Operational Excellence (OE) reviews across the fleet — including interview protocols, evidence gathering, paired scoring, and challenge sessions
• Coach asset teams through annual self-assessments against all ten elements of the OE Management Standard
• Drive performance improvement across the five OE themes — reliable performance, care and discipline, efficient execution, performance understanding, and data-driven improvement
• Maintain a fleet-wide view of OE gaps and improvement opportunities, proposing priorities based on production impact, cost, risk, and feasibility
• Support reliability analysis, defect elimination, maintenance strategy review, and production loss reduction at asset level
• Advise project teams on OE readiness — specifying the data, systems, KPIs, and processes required before operations begin
• Act as the OE champion across the organisation, delivering training and building assessor capability within asset teams
• Benchmark asset performance against industry practice and translate findings into prioritised actions with measurable outcomes

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Asset Management, or a related discipline
• At least 15 years in operational excellence, reliability, maintenance management, or performance improvement within oil and gas, energy, or other asset-intensive industries
• Hands-on experience leading or participating in structured operational assessments or audits
• Demonstrated delivery of measurable improvement outcomes at site or multi-site level

Skills:

• Working knowledge across the breadth of Operations Excellence practices — maintenance strategy, reliability, production optimisation, work planning, cost management, performance analytics, and continuous improvement — with depth in at least two areas
• Strong understanding of Operational Excellence assessment methodology: scoping, evidence gathering, paired scoring, challenge sessions, and follow-up
• Ability to analyse operational and maintenance data, identify patterns, and present findings that drive decisions
• Experience with enterprise asset management systems (e.g. IFS, SAP), data analytics tools, or operational dashboards
• Track record of embedding a continuous improvement culture — engaging people at all levels
  Clear communicator who can coach frontline teams and present to senior leadership with equal confidence
• Strong written and spoken English proficiency
