Job summary

BW Offshore invites a Senior Production Availability Engineer to lead production loss investigations, reliability analyses, and maintenance strategy across the FPSO fleet. This role sits in the Operational Performance function and reports to the Senior Manager, Operational Performance.

The position is office-based in Singapore with occasional offshore travel for failure investigations, reliability audits and asset reviews.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in oil and gas, with 5+ years in availability/reliability.
• Experience in FPSO or offshore production.
• Proven track record in RCM, RAM, RCA, FMEA/FMECA, Weibull analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet-wide production loss tracking and reporting to asset leadership.
• Investigate equipment failures and upsets from root cause to corrective action.
• Lead RCM and FMEA studies to set maintenance strategies.
• Build RAM analysis capability modelling configurations.
• Develop reliability KPIs like MTBF, MTTR, OEE.
• Mentor junior engineers in reliability methods.
• Drive condition-based and predictive maintenance across fleet.

We are looking for a Senior Production Availability Engineer to lead production loss investigation, reliability analysis, and maintenance strategy development across our FPSO fleet. This role owns fleet-wide production loss tracking, builds our RAM analysis capability, and drives measurable uptime improvement.

This role will sit within the Operational Performance function, reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Performance. Office-based in Singapore with occasional travel offshore for failure investigations, reliability audits, and asset reviews.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Own fleet-wide production loss tracking — classify events, analyse trends, and report findings to asset leadership
• Investigate equipment failures, process upsets, and spurious trips that cause significant production loss — from root cause through to verified corrective action
• Lead RCM and FMEA / FMECA studies across topsides and marine systems to set optimal maintenance strategies for critical equipment
• Build and own the company's RAM analysis capability — modelling system configurations to identify bottlenecks and single points of failure
• Develop and monitor reliability KPIs — MTBF, MTTR, OEE, production availability — turning data into decisions
• Build and maintain bad-actor programmes, prioritising improvement projects by production impact and safety consequence
• Champion focus on production-critical systems and equipment, driving adoption of condition-based and predictive maintenance across the fleet
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in reliability methods and tools

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, process, or reliability engineering (or equivalent). Master's degree preferred but not essential
• 10+ years in oil and gas, with at least 5 in a dedicated availability/reliability engineering role — ideally FPSO or offshore production
• Proven track record in RCM, RAM, RCA, FMEA / FMECA, and Weibull analysis in an operational or project context

Skills

• Strong investigative ability — independently drive production loss events from data gathering through root cause to corrective action closure
• Hands-on experience with reliability tools such as Weibull++, BlockSim, RCM++, OREDA, Isograph, IFS, Maximo, or SAP PM
• Working knowledge of offshore safety frameworks including SCE / SECE performance standard assurance, ALARP, and barrier management
• Familiarity with ISO 14224, ISO 55000, and API 580/581 is an advantage
• Professional certification — CMRP, CRE, Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent — is desirable
• Strong English communication skills — written and spoken
