Job summary

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University invites applications for a Research Fellow (Post-doctoral) in Coral Reef Ecosystems for an initial 12-month appointment.

The Fellow will work with Assistant Professor Kyle Morgan to integrate photoquadrat data, photogrammetry, and environmental datasets to uncover regional patterns in ecological processes and carbonate budgets across South and Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• PhD in marine science or a related discipline.
• Strong publication record for career stage.
• Expert coral and benthic identification with field and diving experience.
• Advanced statistics and data analysis using R and Python.
• Experience with photoquadrat and photogrammetry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead research on coral reef ecology, bleaching and carbonate budgets.
• Analyze regional datasets to identify spatial patterns and trends.
• Develop frontier research questions and quantitative methods.
• Plan regional field campaigns and build collaborations.
• Mentor junior researchers and disseminate findings through publications.
