Job summary

Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at NTU invites applications for a Research Assistant position to support a 4-year MCCS project on sedimentation in Singapore’s coastal habitats. The RA will work in a multi-disciplinary team with EOS, NTU colleagues and industry partners, handling field sampling, lab analyses and data collation.

The role emphasizes collecting cores, processing samples, and contributing to reports and publications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physical geography, geology, environmental science or related field.
• Experience working in coastal/intertidal environments with field, lab, or desk-based analyses.
• Laboratory experience with coastal sediments and data processing.
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support sediment monitoring in Singapore’s coastal habitats.
• Collect sediment cores and surface sediment samples.
• Perform laboratory analyses including grain size, organic carbon, and chronology development.
• Collate results for scientific reports.
• Present findings at group meetings and workshops.
