Job summary

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University invites applications for a Research Fellow (Post-doctoral) in Coral Reef Ecosystems for an initial 12-month appointment. The Fellow will work with Assistant Professor Kyle Morgan to analyze photoquadrat data, photogrammetry and environmental datasets to map regional patterns and carbonate budgets across South and Southeast Asia.

Applicants should have a PhD in marine science, a strong publication record, hands-on field

Qualifications

• PhD in marine science or related discipline.
• Strong publication record in coral reef ecology or related fields.
• Expert coral and benthic community identification with field and diving experience.
• Advanced data analysis skills in R and Python.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and publications on coral reef ecology, bleaching and carbonate budgets.
• Analyze large regional datasets (photoquadrat, photogrammetry, benthic and environmental) to identify spatial patterns and temporal trends.
• Develop frontier research questions and quantitative approaches for regional reefs.
• Plan regional field campaigns and build collaborations with diverse partners.
• Provide data quality control and contribute to manuscripts and presentations.
