Job summary

A construction firm in Singapore is seeking an EHS Manager to implement safety and health management systems, manage EHS promotional activities, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will lead a risk assessment team, coordinate EHS matters, and conduct site inspections. Strong communication skills and experience in EHS are required for this role, which offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and effectively implement the organization’s SHMS at the site.
  • Plan, organize and manage EHS promotional activities within the site to cultivate good EHS practices.
  • Provide reasonably practicable and effective EHS recommendations to team members to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.
  • Motivate, coach and counsel on EHS matters to site workforce on a continual basis.
  • Coordinate the work of team members, allocate tasks, and provide effective supervision.
  • Lead the risk assessment team at the site.
  • Participate as a risk management team member in the corporate RM organization.
  • Brief project manager/project team periodically on the execution status of the overall safety program.
  • Carry out safety orientations and conduct daily safety toolbox meetings if required.
  • Conduct monthly EHS Committee meetings with Subcontractors.
  • Review existing safety measures and recommend new ones during safety committee meetings.
  • Recommend Stop Work Order to Project Manager when unsafe conditions arise.
  • Attend client/consultant safety meetings/weekly coordination & technical meetings.
  • Lead investigation and maintain records for every first aid case, accident and near miss at the work site.
  • Conduct emergency drills periodically.
  • Inspect the site to ensure all facilities and equipment are in proper working condition.
  • Identify and discuss environmental health irregularities and recommend corrective measures.
