Job summary

HOCK LIAN SENG INFRASTRUCTURE PTE. LTD. seeks a Resident Architect to monitor and manage architectural aspects of Main Contractor works on site. You will ensure construction aligns with approved design, specifications, quality standards, statutory requirements, and project programme.

The role focuses on site supervision, design coordination, quality control, constructability, approvals, and timely project delivery, liaising with BIM team and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Main Contractor's architectural representative on site and monitor compliance with drawings, specs, design intent, contract requirements and regulations.
• Supervise progress and quality of architectural works by subcontractors to align with approved programme.
• Conduct site inspections to verify workmanship, materials, methods, and identify defects early.
• Review shop drawings, submissions, samples, and method statements for approval by Consultant/Architect.
• Coordinate with Consultant/Architect and Design Team on submissions, RFIs, DARs, queries, design changes, and approvals.
• Provide practical, buildable architectural solutions to resolve site issues and minimize delays and costs.
• Coordinate interfaces with structural, civil, M&E, tunnelling, railway systems, fire protection, security, and other disciplines.
• Monitor architectural works in underground station areas including entrances, concourses, platforms, and back-of-house spaces.
• Oversee finishes, doors, ceilings, flooring, waterproofing interfaces, fire-rated elements, signage and accessibility.
• Lead architectural coordination meetings to resolve technical and construction issues.
• Use BIM 360 and other platforms to review drawings, models, and coordinate design to resolve clashes.
• Work with BIM Coordinators to ensure data is coordinated and issued timely.
• Monitor workmanship against samples and establish standards for site execution.
• Coordinate inspections and obtain approvals from Consultant/Architect and relevant parties.
• Follow up on non-conforming works and defects, ensuring timely rectification.
• Liaise with authorities and consultants to fulfill statutory requirements and obtain clearances.
• Coordinate TOP, CSC, SCDF, RI inspections and address outstanding requirements.
• Track progress toward statutory milestones and project handover timelines.
• Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties and handover documentation.
• Assist in final inspections, testing, commissioning, handover and defect rectification.
• Provide regular updates to Project Manager/Director on progress, quality issues, design matters and outstanding works.
• Maintain records of inspections, submissions, correspondence, design changes, site instructions and defects.
