Job summary

GovTech is seeking a seasoned IT professional to lead on-premise application engineering within the Singapore Public Service. The role focuses on security, automation and robust CI/CD pipelines to support MAS and public sector needs.

You will drive configuration management, implement virtualization for on-prem hosting, and promote DevOps practices to ensure resilient, scalable services with strong monitoring and observability.

Qualifications

• Experience with on-premise hosted application software engineering.
• Solid understanding of the SDLC and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong CI/CD implementation and deployment pipeline experience (blue-green, feature flags).
• Experience automating and optimising operational processes in software environments.
• Ability to combine IT operations with machine learning for alert/incident management using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and ELK.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and management of on-prem-based applications, ensuring performance and security.
• Design and implement configuration management strategies including virtualization for on-prem hosting.
• Develop and optimise CI/CD processes and test automation integration.
• Foster a DevOps culture and maintain Agile workflows across teams.
• Provide application development support and tooling to boost developer productivity and operations.
• Establish robust logging, traces, and metrics for visibility into service health and SLAs.
