Job summary

Trafigura Group in Singapore is seeking a contract role to coordinate commercial petrochemicals operations and trader support, ensuring post-deal activity and contract execution run smoothly. You will provide commercial and market information to traders and arrange shipping/logistics to effect trades.

The role requires 3–5 years in olefins/aromatics operations, deep sea vessel handling, STS/lightering, and scheduling across rail, barge and pipelines.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of olefins and aromatics operations and related vessel operations.
• Experience with deep sea vessel operations, STS and lightering.
• Knowledge of ethylene, butadiene, crude C4, propylene and raffinate.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong coordination and planning to liaise on tight logistics deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and forecast supply and stock management of petrochemicals in Asia Pacific.
• Coordinate with Inspector, agent, ship brokers, trade counterparties, storage terminals and internal department to ensure smooth physical operations.
• Minimize cost and pursue optimization of operations.
• Establish good working relationships with counterparties.

Job description

This is a contract role.

Main Purpose

Commercial petrochemicals operations and trader support. Possibly supporting other product desks in the future. Co-ordinates all aspects of the post-deal trading activity to ensure contract execution runs smoothly. Provide commercial/market information to the trader as necessary. Co-ordinate shipping/logistics in order to effect the trade successfully. Assists in the research of new business opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• At least 3-5 years of olefins and aromatics operations and relevant experience in deep sea vessel operations, STS/lightering operations, barge operations, rail car operations and pipeline scheduling.
• Products knowledge such ethylene, butadiene, crude C4, propylene and raffinate.
• Good knowledge of petrochemicals operations is critical.
• Ability to be flexible and work to deadlines and under pressure
• Management of Supply and Stock - supply planning, progression and forecasting
• Ability to establish good working relationships with relevant counterparties
• Strong communication skills and numeral literacy are very important.
• Analytical and possesses commercial instinct
• Good coordination and planning skills to liaise on tight logistics deadlines
