Job summary

St. Andrew's Autism Centre (SAAC) is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support children and young adults with autism across classrooms, therapy rooms, homes, and community settings.

You will assess and treat motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities, develop individualised goals, and collaborate with teachers, coaches, care staff, and a multidisciplinary team to embed OT strategies in daily environments. The role emphasises hands-on growth and practical impact.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Full or conditional registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (Singapore).
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, psychologists, and families.
• Volunteer or work experience supporting persons with autism spectrum disorder or intellectual disability is an asset, but not required.
• Genuine drive and passion to support persons with autism who have a moderate to severe degree of impairment.

What does success look like in your first 12 months?

• Confidently conduct OT assessments across motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and activities of daily living (ADLs), and translate findings into individualised goals and treatment plans
• Deliver 1:1 and group therapy using push-in and pull-out models suited to each student
• Manage a caseload across varied ages and settings with growing independence, documenting progress accurately in IEPs and/or ICPs
• Contribute clinical observations to Case Management Team (CMT) meetings — our multidisciplinary case review process — and IEP meetings
• Embed OT strategies into classroom, home, and community environments alongside teachers, coaches, and families
• Identify an area of clinical interest to deepen through further training

An Occupational Therapist at SAAC works across classrooms, therapy rooms, homes, and community settings — building independence one skill at a time, in close partnership with teachers, coaches, care staff, and families. You'll be supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team and a genuine investment in your clinical growth.

What is the team and leadership like?

You will report to the Head of Occupational Therapy, who oversees OT practice across both the School and Adult Services. You'll be part of a team working closely with Speech Language Therapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and educators, meeting regularly through CMT and IEP/ICP processes to coordinate care. The culture values collaboration and practical strategy-sharing — your clinical input is expected and valued from early on.

Where is this role located?

This role is based across St. Andrew's Autism School.
