Job summary

Pathlight School seeks an Occupational Therapist to contribute to assessment, reporting and intervention planning for students on the autism spectrum. You will support admissions processes, write detailed OT reports, and help design programs targeting motor coordination and regulation.

Join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to life readiness skills and national curriculum adaptation for ASD students, with opportunities to train staff and families and to develop school-wide sensory strategies.

Qualifications

  • Full registration with AHPC (Allied Health Professional Council).
  • Experience with sensory assessments and intervention planning.
  • Passion to learn about autism and to serve the autism community.
  • Adaptability to change and multiple perspectives.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in school admissions assessments and OT-related evaluations.
  • Write assessment reports to guide intervention planning and exams accommodations.
  • Plan and deliver OT programs for students with ASD focusing on motor skills and regulation.
  • Collaborate with therapists, educators and caregivers to support students.
  • Develop school-wide strategies for sensory issues and motor coordination.
  • Conduct training for stakeholders to enhance understanding and skills.

Pathlight Schoolis the first autism-focused school in Singaporeto offer thenational curriculum together with life readiness skills. It caters to students on the autism spectrum with related conditions, aged 7 to 18 years, who are cognitively able to access national curriculum but require additional support such as smaller class sizes, special accommodations and teaching staff trained in autism.

Autism Intervention, Training & Consultancy (AITC)provides training and consultancy services for professionals and caregivers, as well as direct intervention services for individuals on the autism spectrum.

As an Occupational Therapist, your Impact and Contribution includes:
Assessment & Report Writing
  • Participate in team assessment for school admissions
  • Assist in conducting Occupational Therapy (OT) related assessments and write reports for intervention planning
  • Support OT related assessments and write reports for Access Arrangements for National Exams
Intervention
  • Plan and deliver programmes for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in a range of areas, including motor co-ordination skills (eg. Handwriting, aspects of PE, Vocational Skills) and regulation
  • Redesign task to increase productivity through accommodation and skill development
  • Participate in collaborative consultation with key stakeholders
  • Make necessary referrals to external and alternative services where necessary
Programme Development & Training
  • Participate in curriculum / programme development projects
  • Support the team in developing school wide strategies and programmes on areas related to sensory issues, and functional and motor co-ordination skills
  • Conduct training for stakeholders (eg. Therapists, Educators, Caregivers, Vendors and volunteers) to increase knowledge and skills in supporting students with Autism.
  • Full registration with the Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC)*
  • Experience and skills in assessment and intervention on sensory issues
  • Desire to learn about autism and the passion to serve the autism community
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes and different perspectives
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast paced work environment
