Job summary

Hanbridge Institute is seeking a part-time O-Level English Teacher in Singapore to deliver engaging English Language lessons aligned with the official syllabus. You will create lesson plans, worksheets, and assessments, and provide timely feedback to support student progress.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or higher with at least 1 year of teaching experience, and familiarity with international schools or Singapore Government Schools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above with minimum 1 year of teaching experience.
• Experience in international schools or Singapore Government Schools is an advantage.
• TESOL/TEFL/CELTA/PGDE qualifications and/or English degree provide an added advantage.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to engage learners across different proficiency levels.

• Stay updated on subject developments, teaching methods, and resources.
• Prepare and submit a Module Review after each module taught.

Job description

The O-Level English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective English Language lessons in accordance with the approved Scheme of Work. The teacher will ensure students are well-supported through quality instruction, timely assessments, and consistent academic guidance to prepare them for the O-Level examinations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English Language lessons aligned with the O-Level syllabus.
• Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, and assessments to support student learning.
• Set assessment questions, examination papers, and marking guides.
• Mark assignments and assessments within the required time frame.
• Plan and conduct assessments to support and enhance student learning.
• Complete necessary administrative tasks to support the academic department.
• Apply varied teaching and assessment methods to improve lesson delivery.
• Stay updated on developments in the subject area, teaching methods, and resources.
• Prepare and submit a Module Review after each module taught.

Requirements

• Diploma or above, with a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
• Previous teaching experience in international schools or Singapore Government Schools is a strong advantage.
• Candidates with TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, PGDE qualifications, a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in English, and/or IELTS/TOEFL results will have an added advantage.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Responsible, organised, and able to engage learners of different proficiency levels.
• Able to deliver lessons effectively based on the assigned schedule.
