Job summary

SCH INTERNATIONAL CULTURE & EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a passionate English teacher to join our academic team on a full-time basis.

The role covers teaching from Primary 2 to Secondary 4, supporting students in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and communication skills. You will deliver engaging, structured lessons, prepare assessments and examinations, and provide detailed feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, English literature, education, linguistics, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant English teaching experience.
• Able and confident to teach students across Primary 2 to Secondary 4 levels.
• IELTS score of at least 7.0.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Strong knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing techniques.
• Ability to explain language concepts clearly to students of different ages and proficiency levels.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to identify students' learning gaps and provide targeted academic support.
• Passionate about teaching and committed to students' academic development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons for Primary 2 to Secondary 4 students.
• Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, listening and speaking.
• Develop students' ability to communicate accurately and confidently in both written and spoken English.
• Prepare students for school assessments and examinations, including upper-primary and secondary-level English examinations.
• Teach examination techniques, answering strategies, comprehension skills, and structured writing approaches.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments, class tests, writing assessments, and mock examinations to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement.
• Provide clear, constructive, and detailed feedback on students' written and oral work.
• Monitor individual student progress and adapt teaching strategies according to different learning needs and ability levels.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support where required.
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials, worksheets, exercises, and revision resources.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment results, and students' academic progress.
• Communicate students' progress and areas for improvement to the academic team when required.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
