Job summary

MediaTek Research Lab Inc. in Singapore is seeking a NPU Physical Design Engineer for campus entry.

You will contribute to physical design activities for GHz AI processors and neural network DSP, including synthesis, floorplanning, placement, and routing, with focus on timing and power management. The role requires a Bachelor/Master in Electrical/Computer Engineering and experience with RTL-to-GDS flows, along with scripting and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Masters in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• Experience with RTL integration for NPU/CPU/SoC subsystems (preferred).
• Experience with ICC2/FC or Innovus from netlists to GDS.
• RTL-to-GDS flow including synthesis, floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, timing optimization, and physical verification.
• Power noise and reliability tool knowledge (Redhawk, Voltus).
• Timing signoff tools (PrimeTime/Tempus) and timing-closure tools (Tweaker/PrimeClosure).
• Knowledge of high-speed/low-power IP and custom circuit design.
• Scripting ability and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for physical design and development activities for MediaTek Ghz, AI processors, and neural network DSP.
• Engage in physical design analysis, floorplanning, place-and-route, RC extraction, timing, and power optimization.
• Collaborate with colleagues in Taiwan and Singapore on methodology co-development and flow deployment.
