Job summary

Tech Aalto PTE. LTD. is seeking a hands-on Network Switch Migration Engineer to plan, execute, and validate enterprise switch migrations with minimal business disruption.

You will coordinate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure seamless cutovers. The role requires 5+ years of experience with enterprise switches, strong Layer 2/3 networking knowledge, and familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or Arista platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of network engineering experience.
• Proven experience with enterprise switch migrations.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Arista, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute network switch migrations, upgrades, and cutovers.
• Configure VLANs, trunks, routing, STP, LACP, redundancy, and management access.
• Perform switch staging, firmware upgrades, configuration backups, and rollback planning.
• Apply security hardening, including ACLs, secure access, port security, and unused-port restrictions.
• Integrate switches with monitoring and logging platforms using SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, or equivalent technologies.
• Conduct pre- and post-migration connectivity, performance, security, and application testing.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and provide post-implementation support.
• Prepare migration plans, test results, network diagrams, as-built documentation, and handover materials.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, security, application, operations, and change-management teams.

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands‑on Network Switch Migration Engineer to plan, execute, and validate enterprise switch migrations with minimal business disruption.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute network switch migrations, upgrades, and cutovers.


• Configure VLANs, trunks, routing, STP, LACP, redundancy, and management access.


• Perform switch staging, firmware upgrades, configuration backups, and rollback planning.


• Apply security hardening, including ACLs, secure access, port security, and unused‑port restrictions.


• Integrate switches with monitoring and logging platforms using SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, or equivalent technologies.


• Conduct pre- and post‑migration connectivity, performance, security, and application testing.


• Troubleshoot migration issues and provide post‑implementation support.


• Prepare migration plans, test results, network diagrams, as‑built documentation, and handover materials.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLANs, routing, STP, LACP, and redundancy.


• Practical experience with network security hardening.


• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and configuration management.


• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Certifications

• CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIS, or equivalent.


• ITIL or other change‑management certification.
