Job summary

Opensource in Singapore seeks a Technical Lead to oversee Enterprise IT Network and Security Services deployment, integration and migration. You will work with Project Managers to ensure timelines, quality and customer requirements are achieved, while remaining hands-on in design and troubleshooting.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet and Alcatel technologies, leadership of large-scale projects, and the ability to mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise network and security deployments.
• Proven leadership of large enterprise network projects.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco routing and switching, firewalls, and security.
• Experience with firewall deployment, migration, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to guide engineers and coordinate with vendors during complex implementations.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment, implementation and integration of customers’ Enterprise IT Network and Security Services.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure deliverables, timelines, quality and requirements are met.
• Act as Technical Lead for medium to large-scale network and security projects.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to network/security engineers.
• Remain hands-on in design, configuration, implementation, migration, troubleshooting and validation.
• Lead technical implementation involving Cisco routers/switches, Alcatel switches, Check Point, Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls.
• Review environments and recommend migration or implementation approaches.
• Lead network and firewall migration, upgrade and infrastructure refresh activities.
• Provide guidance on LAN/WAN/WLAN, routing, switching and security implementations.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex issues; escalate when needed.
• Coordinate with internal teams, customers and vendors to resolve problems.
• Establish and manage TAC/vendor support cases until resolution.
• Review designs, plans, diagrams and test plans prepared by the team.
• Develop and review test cases and PoC activities for new hardware/software.
• Ensure implementations are tested, validated and documented.
• Mentor engineers assigned to projects; support after-hours activities.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the deployment, implementation and integration of customers’ Enterprise IT Network and Security Services.
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure technical deliverables, project timelines, quality standards and customer requirements are achieved.
• Act as the Technical Lead for medium to large-scale network and security projects.
• Provide technical leadership, direction and guidance to network/security engineers throughout project implementation.
• Remain hands-on in the design, configuration, implementation, migration, troubleshooting and validation of network and security solutions.

• Review existing network environments and recommend appropriate implementation or migration approaches.

• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex network, firewall, connectivity and security-related issues.
• Act as the technical escalation point for engineers and customers during implementation and production issues.
• Coordinate with internal teams, customers and principal vendors to resolve complex technical problems.
• Establish and manage TAC/vendor support cases until resolution.
• Review technical designs, implementation plans, network diagrams, test plans and project documentation prepared by the engineering team.
• Develop and review test cases and proof-of-concept activities for new hardware/software prior to deployment.
• Ensure implementation activities are properly tested, validated and documented.
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineers assigned to the project.
• Support and lead scheduled after-office-hours implementation and maintenance activities where required.

Job Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Alcatel, Check Point, Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies.
• Proven experience leading enterprise network and security infrastructure implementation or migration projects.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies.
• Strong experience with enterprise firewall deployment, configuration, migration and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, routing, switching, VLAN, TCP/IP and network security.
• Ability to lead engineers and provide technical direction during complex implementations and troubleshooting.
• Experience handling complex technical escalations and coordinating with principal vendors.
• Experience with F5, Aruba, Cisco ISE, SolarWinds or A10 will be an advantage.
• Cloud infrastructure/networking experience will be an advantage.
• Cisco certification such as CCNP is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication, customer-facing and technical documentation skills.
• Self-motivated and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
• Able to work flexible hours, particularly during scheduled after-office-hours implementation and maintenance windows.
