Job summary

Singtel Group in Singapore is seeking a telecom network engineer to partner with Engineering and Vendors to design and validate network infrastructure. You will manage resources for service integration and project execution, monitor resources and plan upgrades to meet service needs, and take proactive measures to prevent issues, coordinating with stakeholders for timely remedies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Telecom, Electrical or Electronics) required.
• 2–5 years' experience in telecom industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of IP, LAN/WAN, VPN and related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering team and Vendors to design and validate network infrastructure.
• Manage resources for service integration and project execution.
• Monitor network resources, plan changes, and upgrade to meet service needs.
• Take proactive measures to prevent service difficulties and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Validate MOP for each Change Request to ensure smooth service changes.
• Conduct service impact analyses for changes/outages and inform stakeholders.
• Provide network health reports and trend analyses with improvement suggestions.
• Prepare budgets and track expenditures.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Make an Impact by

• Partner with Engineering team and the Vendors to develop and validate network design for infrastructure and services,
• Manage the resources required for the service integration and network consolidation projects and be responsible for the execution of the project implementation.
• Monitor the network resources, plan and execute the network changes of expansion, optimization, and upgrade, to meet the service needs and requirements,
• Take the proactive measures to prevent service difficulties and quick reaction with the relevant stake holders for efficient solutions for fault cases, as well the follow-ups of remedies,
• Validate and review the MOP (Method of Procedure) for each Change Request to ensure the smooth service change,
• Service impact analyses on scheduled service changes, hardware failure and service outage, and inform the relevant stake holders,
• Provide the network monitoring reports, the network health reports, and analyse the trends and provide suggestions for improvement,
• Prepare the budgets and track the expenditures,
• Perform the other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

Skills for Success

• Possess Degree of Engineering in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronic or relevant,
• 2 to 5 years of relevant working experience in Telecom industry,
• Goal oriented with good analytical and problem-solving skill, committed to deliver high quality outputs, effectively utilized team member to full potential and motivates the team to work together in the most efficient manner,
• Good technical skills of IP concept of LAN, WAN, VPN, and the relevant network protocols, such OSPF, ISIS, BGP, SRv6, DHCP and Dark Fibre, Structured Cabling, etc…,
• Project experience with multi-vendor interoperability and development for provisioning of L2 and L3 services.
